Middle/High School Science Teacher

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate Science Teacher who can engage students with ASD in interactive, hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be skilled at adapting scientific concepts to meet the individual needs of each student while fostering a love for learning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver Science Lessons: Create engaging and hands-on lessons that make science concepts accessible to students with ASD.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe and productive classroom environment where students can thrive.
  • Assess and Evaluate Student Progress: Monitor student understanding of scientific concepts and adjust lessons accordingly.
  • Support Individual Learning Needs: Modify lesson plans and strategies to address the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with Parents and Staff: Maintain open communication with parents to discuss student progress and address concerns.
  • Foster a Positive Science Learning Environment: Encourage student curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking in science.
  • Behavior and Intervention Support: Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques and recommend interventions when necessary.
     

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Science Teacher in the State of Ohio
  • Experience or a strong understanding of teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Ability to adapt lessons to the varying academic needs of students
  • Enthusiasm for science and a passion for teaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible with student needs
