Location: Maryland Heights, MO (Hybrid; office at 13965 Riverport Place Drive, Suite 100)
Duration: Summer 2025 (June–August)

About Core Telecom Systems

Core Telecom Systems is a 25-year-old, family-owned value-added distributor specializing in next-generation broadband networks. We partner with industry leaders like Adtran, Cambium Networks, Clearfield, Infinera and PPC to deliver passive and active network technologies—ranging from FTTH & Outside Plant to Fixed Wireless, Optical Transport, Power solutions and more—to carriers, utilities, WISPs, municipalities, MDUs and data centers. 

 

What You’ll Do

As a Business Development Intern, you’ll work closely with our VP of Business Development and the sales team to:

Market & Account Research: Identify and profile prospective customers (ISPs, co-ops, municipalities, data centers) and track BEAD-participating opportunities.

CRM Management: Update and maintain our CRM (e.g., Salesforce) with lead/contact information, opportunity status, and outreach history.

Lead Generation: Support email and LinkedIn outreach campaigns, draft prospecting messages, and measure their effectiveness.

Competitive Analysis: Research competitor offerings, pricing, and market positioning to inform our sales strategy.

Collateral Development: Assist in preparing presentations, one-pagers, case studies and bid responses.

Event Support: Help plan and coordinate trade-show logistics, booth materials, and post-event follow-up.

Team Collaboration: Attend weekly business-development meetings, contribute ideas for process improvements, and shadow customer calls.

What We’re Looking For

Enrollment: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable drafting professional emails.

Analytical Aptitude: Ability to research, synthesize information, and present clear findings.

Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM platforms a plus.

Self-Starter: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
