Your Role & Impact
As a Summer Intern in our Accounting department, you will gain valuable industry experience while assisting with key accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing schedules, general ledger account analyses, payroll, personal property tax filings, and various business and personal tax returns.
  • Assisting with tax extensions, proofreading tasks, and special projects as needed.
  • Supporting firm personnel with workpaper and file management tasks to maintain organized documentation.
  • Completing assigned tasks accurately and efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors regarding task progress, scheduling, and availability for work hours.
  • Becoming proficient with the firm’s software tools, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, CaseWare/CaseView, ProSystem, Adobe Acrobat, Deltek, and GoFileRoom.

Your Skills & Experience
We’re looking for highly motivated individuals who are eager to learn and gain hands-on experience in accounting. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Accounting or a related field.
  • A strong desire to pursue a career in public accounting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to firm-specific software systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Stand-Out Skills

  • Prior internship or relevant coursework experience.
  • Experience with accounting software (a plus, but not required).
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
