SomeraRoad Marketing and Communications Intern
Looking for a current undergraduate or recent undergraduate to join the SomeraRoad Communications team to assist with day-to-day marketing and PR needs. This internship opportunity will provide hands-on experience driving the marketing lifecycle for dynamic commercial real estate projects across the country. The successful candidate will work directly with our Director of Communications and the broader SomeraRoad team, working on public relations, social media and content, network communication, and marketing and events across the SomeraRoad portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- PR, Media Tracking, and Reporting: monitor SomeraRoad firm and property media coverage, clip media coverage and create media reports, build media lists, conduct media audit, draft media alerts and press releases.
- Social Media: draft Instagram and LinkedIn posts for SomeraRoad firm accounts, and capture content, provide insights and support strategy for individual property pages.
- Event Coordination and Support: support Communications team on firm and individual property events through planning, coordination, ideation.
- Marketing and Industry Research: conduct ongoing research and provide insights to team in an effort to drive strategic marketing efforts.
- Administrative Tasks: Support general office operations, including scheduling meetings, organizing documents, and maintaining files, as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
- Experience: Interest in real estate, retail, hospitality with previous marketing/communications internship experience.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for daily tasks and to interact professionally with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is key for communication elements of the role.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as independently when required, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
- Professionalism: Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior in all interactions and maintains confidentiality as required.
- Time Management: Effective organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Duration and Compensation:
This internship is expected to last for a period of 8 - 12 weeks.
