
Investment Operations Intern
Overview:
GFP Private Wealth is an investment management and financial planning firm located in downtown Cleveland, with a legacy of nearly 50 years. Female-founded and female-led, GFP is growing by attracting new clients and additional talent to the team.
The Investment Operations intern position was created to assist the Operations team with numerous tasks, including trade processing, reconciliation, client reporting and data management. Investment Operations is a “behind the scenes” division supporting the externally facing client advisors. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in finance, investment management or operations.
Details:
- This position is on-site in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, and pays $20/hour.
- Business casual attire is required. Occasionally, business formal and cocktail attire will be required, especially for client meetings and events.
- This position is initially intended for summer 2025 but may extend beyond for the right individual, contingent on business needs.
- Normal business hours are 8:30 am – 5 pm, with an hour for lunch.
- This position is intended to be full-time for the summer (30 - 40 hours/week) but may be available part time (15 – 20 hours/week) in the fall.
Specific Duties Include:
- Assist with the maintenance and accuracy of client account data and investment information within our CRM / portfolio management system.
- Updating client Standing Instructions with custodians, such as Fidelity and Schwab.
- Participate in the daily reconciliation of cash and securities positions between custodians and internal systems.
- Support the preparation and distribution of client reports, statements, and performance summaries.
- Assist with the processing of client account transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
- Support the Operations team with ad-hoc projects, research, and data analysis as needed.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of operational documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student pursuing any degree, but has an interest in Finance, Investments or Operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel or is a quick learner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information.
