Associate Pastor of Youth & Worship  

Reports to: Lead Pastor
Status: Full-Time
Grace Crossing Church, Beavercreek, OH       
 

Role Overview

The Associate Pastor of Youth & Worship at Grace Crossing Church will primarily focus on discipling and equipping the next generation of Christ-followers, creating an engaging and transformational youth ministry from the ground up. This individual will build and develop a comprehensive youth program that fosters spiritual growth, community, and service. In addition to leading and mentoring students, this role will also oversee Spirit-led, authentic worship, fostering an atmosphere where the congregation can encounter God. The Associate Pastor of Youth & Worship should have a heart for youth ministry, a passion for worship, and a vision to see both areas flourish and grow.


YOUTH MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Discipleship & Leadership

  • Build a team of 2-4 volunteer leaders to help disciple and mentor students.
  • Choose a new youth night that best serves students and families, ensuring consistency in meeting times.
  • Develop and lead a structured weekly gathering that includes connection, games, worship, Bible teaching, and small group discussion.
  • Ability to teach and mentor youth musicians while collaborating with them to lead the youth worship team.
  • Create opportunities for students to serve within the church (worship team, tech, greeting, missions, etc.).
  • Plan and lead annual youth retreats, camps, and mission experiences to deepen students' faith and community.
  • Establish a discipleship pathway to help students grow spiritually from new believers to mature followers of Christ.
  • Plan and attend quarterly special events for youth, such as game nights, outreach events, service projects, or fun outings.
     

Administration & Outreach

  • Develop a communication strategy to keep students and parents informed through social media, email, and church announcements.
  • Work alongside church leadership to integrate youth into the broader life of the church.
  • Collaborate with parents to equip them to disciple their teens at home.

 

WORSHIP MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

Worship Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead worship regularly on Sunday mornings, helping to cultivate an atmosphere of genuine worship.
  • When not leading, support other worship leaders by playing or singing as needed to help transition toward a fuller worship experience.
  • Utilizations of those who are active members/attenders of GCC, while also actively recruiting new people to join and enhance the team.
  • Shift the worship style from primarily acoustic sets to fuller bands, incorporating more instruments and vocalists.
  • Refine and maintain a core worship setlist to create familiarity and deeper engagement with the congregation.
  • Oversee the Tech Coordinator, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality sound, lighting, and media production for all services.
  • Facilitate regular gatherings with the worship team for preparation, growth, and encouragement—both musically and spiritually.
  • Foster a sense of unity and cohesion within the team, ensuring a seamless flow of worship week-to-week.
  • Introduce new songs strategically, ensuring they align with the church’s vision and are well-received by the congregation.
  • Begin transitioning to closing services with a worship song, creating space for altar time, reflection, and prayer.
  • Coordinate special worship services (e.g., Christmas, Easter, Good Friday, Nights of Worship).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Occasionally fill in for the lead pastor and preach during services as needed, typically a few times a year.
  • As directed by the lead pastor, assist with special services, church events, or other ministry needs as they arise.

  • Be accountable to the Lead Pastor and church leadership team.

Work Schedule & Accountability

  • Full-time position (including Sundays and mid-week services).
  • Reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
  • Works alongside church staff and volunteers.
