About the Cheese Business

Green Mountain Blue Cheese is a small, family-owned artisan creamery located on a 14th-generation dairy farm in Highgate, Vermont. We produce three varieties of award-winning raw milk blue cheese, crafted by hand using fresh milk straight from our mixed herd of 200 cows. Each wheel is aged for a minimum of 60 days and forms a natural rind.

Our cheesemaking legacy began 25 years ago with Dawn and Dan Boucher, who started making cheese to diversify the family farm. Dawn was one of the first in Vermont to produce blue cheese for wholesale and is now passing the torch to her niece, Kayleigh Boucher.

Today, our team of three handles everything from cheesemaking to packaging, marketing, and sales. Our cheese is available throughout the Northeast via distributors, and we sell direct-to-consumers at the Burlington Farmers Market—and now every other weekend at the Stowe Market.
