Marketing & Communications Internship
Summary
We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing and Communications Intern to assist with social media content creation, marketing strategy development, press releases, newsletters, and overall brand messaging. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing while contributing to meaningful work that supports individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and schedule engaging content for UCP of Eastern CT’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) using Hootsuite.
- Create eye-catching graphics, videos, and promotional materials using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Assist in drafting and distributing press releases, newsletters, and email campaigns.
- Contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies to enhance public engagement and outreach.
- Help manage and update the organization’s website with fresh content.
- Edit and enhance photos for digital and print marketing materials.
- Track and analyze social media and campaign performance metrics, providing insights for improvement.
- Collaborate with staff to promote events, initiatives, and fundraising campaigns.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Hootsuite preferred.
- Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
- Basic knowledge of marketing strategies and brand development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for nonprofit work and commitment to UCP of Eastern CT’s mission.
