Health Advocates is seeking a Business Analyst I for our main office in Chatsworth, CA.  

Job Summary 

The Business Analyst I is responsible for reviewing multiple client insurance claim referrals to determine whether they meet the criteria for acceptance or rejection, while ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. This position provides support to the department by assisting with data analysis, trend identification, and report generation, and performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical certification highly desired 
• 5+ years of hospital collection experience, with strong focus on data analytics  
• Strong understanding of healthcare claims processes, including managed care, third-party liability, workers' compensation, and Med-Pay claims 
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other analytical functions. 
• Strong ability to review and assess large sets of data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. 
• Ability to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and develop actionable insights to improve claim outcomes and payer performance. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present findings and collaborate with diverse teams. 
• Ability to identify process inefficiencies and work with others to implement data-driven improvements. 
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to referral reviews and claims. 
• Familiarity with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations, ensuring compliance in all referral and claims processes. 
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team while also working independently when needed. 

Working Title: Business Analyst I 

Pay Rate: $32.00 - $50.00 per hour (Depending on Relevant Experience)
Position Type: Full-time; Non-Exempt
Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule - Mon-Thurs 7:30 am-5:00 pm & Fri 7:30 am-12:30 pm
Other: We conduct assessment testing and post offer background checks
