BreastReconstruction.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reliable, expert-vetted information and support to individuals navigating post-mastectomy reconstruction. We empower patients and their loved ones with educational resources, real stories, and a welcoming online community that encourages informed decision-making and healing. 

Position Overview 
BreastReconstruction.org is seeking a thoughtful and empathetic Social Media Engagement Intern to help us deepen connections within our community and expand our presence across social platforms. This intern will play a key role in engaging with breast cancer-related accounts, commenting and interacting in a respectful, supportive voice aligned with our mission. The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about health advocacy, social impact, or community building and can dedicate 4–6 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities 

Engage with breast cancer and breast reconstruction-related accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn 

Support our mission by liking, commenting, and thoughtfully responding to posts using our brand’s supportive tone 

Occasionally assist in drafting or scheduling posts that align with our monthly content themes 

Monitor hashtags and conversations relevant to our community to identify meaningful engagement opportunities 

Ensure all communication remains sensitive to the emotional and physical experiences of breast cancer patients, survivors and previvors  

Qualifications 

Excellent written communication skills 

Deep sense of empathy and respect for the breast cancer and the breast reconstruction community 

Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn 

Interest in nonprofit communications, patient advocacy, or health education 

Self-starter with the ability to work independently while aligning with BreastReconstruction.org’s tone and mission
