Intern, Corporate Events

Position: Intern, Corporate Events

Location: Waltham, MA

Job description: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Corporate Events Intern to join our dynamic Corporate Events team for the summer of 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning and executing corporate events within a biopharmaceutical environment and reports to the Associate Director, Corporate Events. This position will be located in our Waltham office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of corporate events, including conferences and in-office programs.
  • Support logistics management, including venue review, catering arrangements, and registration coordination and more.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop event agendas, promotional materials, and attendee communications.
  • Manage event registration processes and track attendee feedback as needed.
  • Provide local on-site support during event setup, execution, and teardown phases, ensuring all aspects run smoothly.
  • Conduct research to identify potential event opportunities and industry trends.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including budget tracking, files and vendor communications.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Rising Junior or Senior in 4-year undergraduate program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Hospitality or a related field
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Relevant coursework in Hospitality and/or Communications
  • Strong presentation and collaboration skills
  • Prior experience in event planning or coordination is a plus but not required

 

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to team success.

 

Working at Alkermes:

  • Part-time schedule: 3 days/week in Waltham office (Tues – Thurs)
  • This is a part-time, paid internship position for the summer of 2025 beginning approximately June 10th for 8-12 weeks
  • The internship will provide exposure to various aspects of corporate event management within the biopharmaceutical industry.
