### Position Overview
The Purpose Discovery Specialist will develop innovative approaches connecting individuals to their purpose, focusing on personalized development beyond traditional methods. This position bridges purpose discovery with practical application, creating pathways for individuals to thrive while developing skills for long-term success. The role allows for engagement in additional employment opportunities with our collaborative partners.
### Key Responsibilities
**Curriculum Development**
- Develop purpose-centered teaching strategies prioritizing self-discovery, focusing on methods that help autistic students connect with their natural strengths
- Design innovative curriculum approaches engaging individuals based on unique learning styles
- Create customizable learning pathways addressing real-world applications in computer science, community development, and leadership
- Implement collaborative learning strategies connecting individuals of varying backgrounds, emphasizing inclusive environments for neurodivergent learners
- Customize approaches based on individual needs, particularly for non-verbal and verbal autistic students
- Collaborate with student athletes to develop skills beyond sports
- Develop timeline-based teaching strategies synchronizing subjects around historical eras
**Collaborative Engagement**
- Work directly with undergraduate and graduate students from across the US and internationally
- Develop programming for student athletes seeking to apply skills beyond sports
- Create mentorship opportunities connecting purpose-driven professionals with emerging talent
- Foster communities of practice around shared purpose themes
- Design engagement strategies honoring diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Build technology-based solutions maximizing learning potential for autistic students
**Student Engagement**
- Develop strategies for meaningful engagement with non-verbal and verbal autistic students
- Create assessment approaches recognizing different ways students demonstrate knowledge
- Design learning experiences connecting abstract concepts to practical applications
- Implement progress tracking systems beyond traditional metrics
- Focus on developing life skills alongside academic content
**Professional Contribution**
- Contribute quarterly articles to "Make The Difference" publication
- Participate in purpose-centered discussions and initiatives
- Stay current with research on purpose discovery and mental/behavioral health
- Document successful strategies for wider implementation
- Represent Voice Up at the annual Global Stories of Purpose Conference
### Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related field preferred
- Experience in curriculum development, mentoring, or coaching, with success developing materials for autistic students
- Understanding of diverse learning approaches and purpose discovery, particularly for neurodivergent learners
- Strong commitment to mental health advocacy and innovative teaching methods
- Experience working with diverse populations including student athletes and autistic individuals
- Knowledge of adaptive technologies and computer science applications
- Understanding of translating autistic students' special interests into career pathways
- Personal passion for helping individuals discover their purpose
- Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt for diverse audiences

"Make The Difference" is a global quarterly publication illuminating extraordinary journeys through authentic stories of purpose, mental health, faith, leadership, and community impact. As a contributor, you'll share insights with a global audience committed to positive change. The publication culminates in the annual Global Stories of Purpose Conference.

### Compensation & Leadership Opportunity
This position qualifies for a leadership role within Voice Up Publishing. Compensation includes participation in multi-year contracts at an hourly rate based on experience and project scope. Successful candidates may secure equity stake options through consistent participation in leadership team meetings.
