Position Title: Director of Evangelization
Status: Full-time, Exempt, 12 months
Reports to: Pastor
Introduction
The St. Rose Family of Parishes is seeking a Director of Evangelization. We need a highly faithful and motivated individual committed to the Church’s mission of evangelization. This director would pursue the consolidation of all of the religious education programs in our Family of Parishes, for both youth and adults.

Duties
Summary: Initiate, coordinate, oversee, and actively take part in the adult and youth evangelization, the RCIA team, and ministries related to missionary discipleship.
- Create and implement a comprehensive approach to evangelization for adults, youth, and families
- Articulate a clear vision/mission for adult, youth, and family evangelization to parents, youth, staff, and parishioners
- Research, develop, implement, and supervise adult, youth, and family evangelization initiatives
- Coordinate evangelization formation for parishioners
- Oversees all adult faith formation groups, supervising and supporting lay volunteer leadership in these groups
- Oversee sacramental preparation for children and adults in the Family of Parishes
- Foster young adult evangelization efforts
- Organize, lead, and oversee the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) and the Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC)
- Initiate outreach to invite non-Catholics to consider becoming Catholic
- Individual meetings with potential catechumens/candidates
- Gather and give information to sponsors
- Establish schedule of catechetical presentations and Rites to be celebrated
- Coordinate/lead facilitation of weekly OCIA meetings for relationship building, catechesis, and prayer
- Lead OCIA Core Team to execute scheduling of catechists, communication to all groups of people involved in OCIA, social meal planning, liturgical coordination, and evaluation of OCIA program
- Assist pastor in liturgical preparation and execution for all OCIA rites, including Easter Vigil
- Research and order catechetical materials
- Order supplies for Adult Faith Formation groups such as books, materials, pamphlets, etc.
- Research opportunities for parish growth/renewal in adult, youth, and family faith formation
- Oversee budget and expenses for all evangelization efforts while coordinating registration and collection of fees for programs
- Develop working relationships with neighboring parishes by attending Archdiocesan meetings
- Act as liaison for hosting Archdiocesan or other evangelization events at the churches in St. Rose Family
- Including additional duties determined by the Pastor.
Expectations
- Must complete and maintain compliance with all Archdiocese of Cincinnati Safe Environment policies
- Must complete a background check
- Must participate in continuing education in the area of religious education and evangelization
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Must be a fully initiated and fervently practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
Must have:
- An orthodox understanding and love of the Catholic faith
- Daily prayer life and living relationship with Jesus
- Zeal for the mission of Catholic evangelization, bringing others to Christ and His Church
Must be highly proficient in and comfortable:
- Leading groups in vocal prayer
- Engaging in sensitive pastoral conversations
- Using oral and written communication skills
- Leading teams of people with a variety of backgrounds and contributions
- Using the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Church encyclicals and documents
Must desire to participate in:
- Creatively try new initiatives
- Setting vision, engaging in long-term planning initiatives
Must have skills and abilities in:
- Attention to detail and organization
- Current communications technologies
- Computers and software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Workspace
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in theology preferred but not required
- 5+ years of experience as a Director of Religious Education preferred
- Experience in leading ministry teams and volunteers
- Experience in teaching and presenting to people in a variety of settings
- Experience with FOCUS/SPO/NET and their models of evangelization a plus
Working Environment
This position requires frequent evening, weekend and off-site work.
