Equipment Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION: 

The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of routine and emergency maintenance to all Sierra Circuits, Inc. facilities and equipment as directed by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Equipment Maintenance Technician

  • Conduct periodic inspections on assigned equipment according to the Preventive Maintenance Schedule (ISO Form 11-01-01-B).
  • Perform preventative maintenance work on equipment and machinery to prevent breakdowns, costly repairs, and the development of unsafe conditions.
  • Promptly respond to and complete job requisitions according to request forms and submit to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.
  • Use proper tools and techniques to perform the required tasks in a professional and safe manner.
  • Research, order, and prepare spare parts needed with the most cost-effective solution.
  • Report any potential problems to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Interact professionally and diplomatically with managers, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Be available for emergency maintenance.
  • May be required to operate a forklift.
  • Must follow the Preventive Protection Equipment (PPE) protocol
  • Open to Day, Swing ,and Graveyard Shift
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma, AA degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1 -5 years experience in the following trades: general building maintenance, electricity, carpentry, and plumbing.
  • Trainee: if no experience, you must have Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Previous hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical tools and test instruments.
  • Good written/verbal communication skills and ability to generate reports of diagnoses of machines and completed tasks.
  • Must have a professional demeanor and good customer service skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk throughout the day.
  • Ability to operate a forklift if needed.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Schedule: Day or Swing and must be Flexible

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:    The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 20 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.

 

ENVIRONMENT:  

- The manufacturing facility is exposed to electronics assembly equipment and materials.

- May require working in a controlled environment with specific temperature and humidity requirements.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to perform the work.

 

CA salary ranges $25 - $35 per hour with Benefits and Perks
