Field Engineer
Position Summary:
The Field Engineer position fills a critical support role within our unique company’s Construction Department; supporting the PM and General Supt. and assisting in the administrative functions on multi-million-dollar construction projects. The Field Engineer is also exposed to the entire life-cycle of major construction projects from estimating and bidding through punch list and project close-out. As you are developed in this role, we will add more responsibilities as you demonstrate a solid understanding of assigned tasks and continually execute assigned deliverables.
Essential Functions:

BID PACKAGES
Bid Package Preparation
- Assist PM to create scopes of work.
- Create Bid Packages as necessary.
- Notify contractors of pending bid packages to generate interest & send invitations
- Call on contractors to confirm receipt & ensure proper bid coverage
- Respond to contractor RFIs & provide prompt responses
- Work with PM to level bids

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION
RFIs
- Review RFIs received from Contractors & Subcontractors
- Submit RFIs to Design Team to resolve in timely fashion
Submittals
- Create Submittal log utilizing Procore (and other project management software)
- Coordinate with PM to assign appropriate due dates for submittals
- Follow-up with Subcontractors to ensure submittals are complete by deadline
Meetings
- Take Meeting minutes and distribute
Project Schedule
- Work with PM to track project schedule on weekly basis (or as needed)
Drawings
- Ensure drawings sets are kept current & subcontractors are notified of changes.
Field Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring general contractors’ work and safety.
Punch List & Close-out
- Work with PM & Superintendent to create, track, and complete Project Punchlist
- Compile as-built drawings
Contracts
- Prepare purchase orders and create subcontracts
Work Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in Construction and site work
- Working knowledge of construction or design engineering required.
- Experience in manufacturing plant construction is a plus.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work with computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, and to learn others as needed.
