Data Systems Intern

RCN, a leading private lender in real estate investments, offers an exciting internship opportunity for a highly qualified individual.

About RCN: With significant growth in the past five years, RCN faces challenges managing various data silos across departments. We seek an intern to collaborate with department heads, catalog and document data types, identify overlaps and gaps, and recommend best practices for data access.

Potential Project Extensions: Based on intern efficiency, extend the project to create a roadmap for surfacing and leveraging data effectively.

Final Presentation: Present findings to RCN’s C-suite, showcasing insights and recommendations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Role and Responsibilities:
• Serve as a central hub for disparate data systems, facilitating communication and collaboration between VP’s, SVP’s, and engineers.
• Work closely with the VP of Process Improvement to coordinate meetings and engagements with stakeholders.
• The project’s goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of RCN’s data landscape.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of relational databases and proficiency in APIs and SQL.
• Ability to visualize and ideate on a broad scale.
• Comfortable communicating with engineers and senior leadership.
• Background in data science, data analysis, or related fields.
• Business acumen to understand organizational needs and challenges.

Education:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university studying Computer Science, MIS, BIS, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related field

Schedule:

• Full time for duration of internship
• Onsite in South Windsor, CT office
• Monday-Friday, 9AM-6PM
