Construction Project Engineer

Project Engineers - we are hiring Project Engineer, 0-3 years of experience for our Los Angeles, California team. We are a local general contractor that specializes healthcare and government work, with an office in Paramount, Los Angeles. 

Duties and responsibilities included

  • Read and understand Construction Design Documents and Specifications.
  • Perform construction cost estimates and quantity surveys for various scopes of work. Overall trade management and coordination, and some level of exposure to BIM.
  • Support project manager in ownership of the construction process
  • Support project manager in ownership of cost control Assist with communication between client, design team and subcontractors0
  • Work with your team to manage all documents (RFI, Submittal, Change Orders)
  • Assists in the verification of monthly subcontractor payment requests
  • May assume a role in locating suppliers for various building materials; reviews invoices upon request to verify quantity, quality and prices for construction materials
  • Participates in jobsite safety as outlined in company’s Safety & Health Manual
  • Prepares and/or oversees preparation of a number of reports dealing with the project, such as material logs, submittal logs, RFI logs, drawing logs, long-lead items log as required by owners and/or company operating procedures

 

Requirements for this position include: 

  • BS in Construction Management or related construction degree
  • Previous experience on Procore
  • Plan reading knowledge
  • 0-3 years of construction experience in or post college
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and direct-report tasks.
  • Construction internship or other related construction work experience preferred, ie Reno, clubs, competitions
  • Must be commutable to Los Angeles and Orange County projects
