Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to join our commodity brokerage team. This internship will provide a comprehensive introduction to the operations of a commodity brokerage, offering exposure to market analysis, trading strategies, client relations, and regulatory compliance. The intern will work closely with experienced brokers and analysts, contributing to real-world projects and gaining valuable insights into the commodity markets.

Responsibilities:

• Assist brokers in daily trading operations, including order entry and trade confirmations.
• Conduct market research and analysis on various commodities, including price trends, supply and demand factors, and geopolitical influences.
• Develop and maintain market data spreadsheets and reports.
• Support the preparation of client presentations and marketing materials.
• Shadow brokers in client meetings and communications to understand client needs and market perspectives.
• Learn about risk management strategies and hedging techniques.
• Assist with regulatory compliance tasks and documentation.
• Contribute to special projects as assigned by the brokerage team.
• Attend internal training sessions and market updates to enhance understanding of the commodity markets.
• Provide administrative support to the brokerage team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in financial markets and commodities.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong Excel skills are highly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.  
• Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
