Intern - Product, Fiber and Transport

About the Program: 
The 10-week Zayo Summer Internship Program is designed to cultivate the next generation of telecommunications professionals. Interns will gain meaningful, hands-on experience within a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment. Our goal is to empower, develop, and connect our interns while fostering fresh perspectives and ideas that will drive our organization forward.

Program Details:

Location: Denver-based preferred, based on hiring team’s needs.

Zayo's Product Management team is looking for driven, curious, and analytically-minded interns to help shape the future of communications infrastructure. As a Product Intern - Fiber and Transport, you’ll work alongside senior product leaders to define how enterprises design next-gen networks, improve connectivity, and unlock new value through innovation. You’ll contribute to product strategy, competitive research, roadmap planning, and financial analysis, gaining hands-on experience in what it takes to own and grow a product in a high-impact environment.

This is an opportunity to gain real-world exposure to P&L-driven product thinking, network technologies, and the fast-moving world of infrastructure-as-a-service.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of product strategy, roadmap planning, and customer-centric solutions.
  • Conduct market and competitive research, including deep dives into product positioning, pricing, and differentiation.
  • Support business case development, including financial modeling and ROI analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and build internal documentation.
  • Help monitor product KPIs and analyze performance data to uncover insights and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in meetings with engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams to gain exposure to end-to-end product execution.

 

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have completed their sophomore year and be enrolled in a degree or certificate seeking program for the fall semester of 2025. 
  • Currently pursuing Business, Finance, data analytics, computer science, or related field.
  • Curiosity about Product Management: Eager to learn how successful products are developed, launched, and scaled.
  • Comfort with Numbers: Interested in understanding financial modeling and business case creation, with a strong foundation in these areas.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Confident in presenting ideas, asking insightful questions, and effectively sharing thoughts and feedback.
  • Analytical and Detail-Oriented: Organized with a keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
  • Adaptability in a Fast-Paced Environment: Thrives in dynamic settings where priorities can shift, and is motivated by making a tangible impact.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. 
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance and 401(k).
The posting will be active for a minimum of 3 days. The active posting will continue to extend by 3 days until the position is filled.

Estimated Base Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 USD/hour.
