Technical Writing Intern

Our legal compliance team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Writing Intern with a passion for technology and a knack for translating complex information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content. Our competitive intern program offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical writing, contract management, content creation, and documentation. The Technical Writing Intern will work independently and as part of a team to fulfill organizational goals and initiatives.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Assist in creating, editing, and maintaining technical and legal documentation, including contract templates, historical contracts, owner's manuals, product guides, and online help content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and the legal team to gather information and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with jump starting Contract Lifecycle Management system.
  • Develop and update content for internal and external audiences.
  • Participate in the review and revision process to ensure high-quality documentation.
  • Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in legal and technical writing.
  • Support the team in various writing and editing tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned based on business need

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Paralegal or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare, etc.).
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of software development and technology is a plus.
  • Internship located in Eden Prairie, MN
  • This position may require travel to other Winnebago locations.
  • While the office does offer flexible schedule, the internship is primarily an in-office role.

Hourly rate of $25/per hour

The internship is 11 weeks from June 2nd through August 15th.
