Digital Intern Job Description

 

Background:

The Corinne Fisher for Mayor campaign is looking to add Digital/Social Media Interns to our Mayoral campaign!

 

Position Summary:

The Digital/Social Media Intern will play a vital role in building and engaging our online community, driving digital outreach, and helping the campaign reach new voters. We’re looking for someone who is creative, organized, passionate about progressive politics, and fluent in the latest trends and platforms shaping digital activism.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

With the assistance of our Digital Organizer,

 

  • Develop and execute regular content for the campaign’s social media platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
     
  • Monitor social media channels and engage with followers to build community and amplify campaign messaging
     
  • Create graphics, short videos, and other shareable content in collaboration with the design and comms team
     
  • Track digital metrics and produce regular reports to assess engagement and impact
     
  • Work with organizing staff to integrate digital outreach with field goals, including volunteer recruitment and event promotion
     
  • Stay on top of current events, trending topics, and digital best practices to keep the campaign’s voice fresh, timely, and responsive
     
  • Support rapid response efforts as needed, including nights and weekends around key campaign moments
     

Qualifications*:

  • 0-2 years of experience in digital organizing, social media, or political communications 
     
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, etc.)
     
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
     
  • Passion for progressive politics and a deep commitment to the candidate’s values
     

Preferred but not required:
 

  • Fluency in additional languages
     
  • Knowledge of the NYC political landscape

 

Salary and Hours:


$18/hour – 10-12 hours/week

Start date ASAP
 

Location: 

 

Ability to work in-person in New York City preferred, but consideration will be given to well-qualified candidates able to work remotely.
