Instructional Design Intern

The Opportunity

The Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership (BRHP) operates the Baltimore Housing Mobility Program, assisting over 4,000 families in moving from areas of concentrated poverty to communities with strong schools, low crime, and ample job opportunities. We are a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing quality and affordable housing in high-opportunity areas within Baltimore City and surrounding counties.

BRHP is seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructional Design Intern to support our training programs for clients, staff, and other stakeholders. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of training initiatives that promote housing mobility and upward mobility for low-income families. The Instructional Design Intern will work closely with the Research & Innovation team.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work for the position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, or skills required. Duties and Responsibilities could include:  

Assist in developing and delivering training curriculum for clients, staff, and stakeholders.

Aid in the creation and maintaining of training materials, including slide decks, handbooks, and handouts.

Support the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of training sessions and technical assistance.

Collaborate with BRHP counselors and rental assistance associates to support clients in the pre- and post-move workshops

Participate in the evaluation and feedback process to improve training effectiveness.

Network with regional partners to identify resources for training support.

Contribute to the identification and implementation of best practices in instructional design.  

 

Position Requirements  

Currently pursuing, or recently graduated with a degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, or a related field.

Strong interest in social services and housing.

Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint), Articulate 360.  

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  

Honesty and integrity

Strong work ethic

Preferred Requirements  

Experience working with diverse populations.

Understanding of the Baltimore region and its social service organizations.

Prior experience in housing programs or social services is a plus.

Job type: Temporary, 3-6 months

Salary: $25/hour or for course credit; 25-40 hours a week

Office Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
