Bridge Engineer (Entry level)

Reports directly to the County Engineer. Independently performs design, construction, and maintenance activities. Assists with drafting, surveying, estimating, construction inspection, and civil engineering functions. Performs annual bridge inspections.  Maintains and updates bridge inventory, inspections, and load ratings. Assists the public. Must be able to operate a variety of standard office equipment.  Ability to use surveying, GPS, and other related equipment. Ability to drive cars and small trucks. Expected to exercise a great deal of technical and administrative judgment in planning, organizing and establishing work priorities so Federal, State, and local laws and standards are followed and deadlines are met. Expected to exercise good judgment, leadership, and authority. Works in a team environment to attain the general goals of the County Engineer. 

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, valid Driver’s License.  Preferred applicants shall have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
