Graduate Analytics Intern - Enterprise AI (Summer 2025)

The Graduate Analytics Intern role is with the Responsible AI team within the AI Center of Excellence. The team is focused on enabling and maturing the Responsible AI capabilities across Humana. The Graduate Analytics Intern will leverage large sets of structured and unstructured data to develop tactical and strategic insights in the Responsible AI domain.

The Graduate Analytics Intern on the Responsible AI team will collaborate closely with data scientists and AI governance partners to ideate and implement best practices for the responsible and ethical use of AI at Humana. In this role, the intern will develop technical solutions that translate the principles of Responsible AI into practice, ensuring that our AI solutions are safe, fair, transparent, reliable, accountable, and secure.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Business & Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related technical fields. Candidates pursuing a graduate level degree in Philosophy/Ethics will also be considered if they have the preferred technical qualifications.
  • Graduate from your program in December 2025 or later
  • Excited at the prospect of working with extremely large datasets that cover millions of members over multiple years
  • Genuine and authentic communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver crisp messages to a broad audience
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Skilled with Python or associated libraries
  • Team player with strong interpersonal relationship, team building, collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the U.S. now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a strong academic history, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA being desired
  • Possess an interest in working in the healthcare industry
  • Knowledgeable in research for on algorithmic fairness, transparency, and accountability especially around the detection and mitigation of unconscious bias in machine learning models
  • Knowledgeable about best practices for test and evaluation of Large Language Model applications
  • Familiarity working with marginalized groups or knowledge of diverse social history
  • Experience working with AI ethics stakeholders such as compliance, product, and users

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

 

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

 

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
 

$37,440 - $87,500 per year
