
Entry Level Estimator

Summary:
This role involves analyzing project documents such as blueprints, proposals, and specifications to gather necessary data. The Entry Level Estimator primary duties include evaluating labor, materials, and time requirements and preparing detailed project cost reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with Project Document Review: Help in reviewing project blueprints, specifications, and contracts to gather information for estimates.
• Support Cost Estimation: Aid in calculating the cost of labor, materials, and equipment required for asphalt projects, under the supervision of senior estimators.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from various sources, including suppliers and subcontractors, to support cost estimations.
• Report Preparation: Assist in compiling and presenting cost reports for review by the estimating team and upper management.
• Field Visits: Accompany senior estimators to job sites to assess current conditions and ensure accurate estimations.
• Vendor Coordination: Help maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to gather pricing information and ensure the timely delivery of materials.
EDUCATION:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Driver’s License
EXPERIENCE:
While prior experience is not required, some exposure to the construction industry, particularly in asphalt or paving, is a plus.
SKILLS:
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
