Architectural Drafter

JOB TYPE: Non-Exempt

JOB LOCATION: Medford WI – Possible hybrid remote/office option

POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepare shop drawings (unit elevations and typical cross sections) on large projects for submittal; review blueprints and project specifications; enter and maintain quotes/orders for project; follow project from quote through delivery; communicate with and offer technical assistance to architects, customers and co-workers; and other duties as assigned

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project management: From preliminary consultation through delivery
  • Review architect’s plans and projectspecifications as needed
  • Prepare project specific shop drawings for submittal/approval
  • Enter and maintain quotes and orders for project
  • Create special drawings for production when required
  • Provide technical support for both architects/customers and internal team members

 

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Pleasant phone/communication skills.
  • Able to work and effectively communicate with customers, project teams (including engineers & designers), interoffice departments and with co-workers.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in different stages at any given time.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of operating CAD systems (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Teams, etc)
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering specifications and other technical information sources.
  • Interest in architecture and architectural products.

EDUCATION: Associate’s degreein Architectural Designor equivalent is preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in window & door industry is a plus.
