Freight Cost Intern- Six Months

Position Overview: Freight Cost Intern - Transport Team
As a Freight Cost Intern within our Transport Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating reporting and analytics for Givaudan’s Freight & Duty expenditures, service quality, and performance in the NOAM region.
This position will primarily involve running existing reports, but you will also be encouraged to develop innovative methods for analyzing Freight & Duty spending and activity levels. The ideal candidate should possess strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills and have experience managing large datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute a Freight Report to analyze the cost per kilogram of our inbound and outbound shipments.
- Audit carrier invoices to identify discrepancies and prevent overpayments.
- Serve as the main point of contact for our invoice processing company to ensure timely payments to carriers and accurate allocation of invoices.
- Collaborate with the team to provide cost visibility that supports savings projects and other ad hoc analyses.
- Engage with the controlling department to enhance the accrual and budget processes.
- Assist with daily transport activities, including tracking shipments, preparing necessary paperwork, and planning shipments.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including the ability to design, develop, and improve reports and tools.
- A keen interest in identifying and leading continuous improvement activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
