Job Overview:

Conspec Controls is looking for an Oil & Gas Business Development Manager to expand our existing market share in the Oil & Gas Industry within the Rockies Region. When you join the team here at Conspec Controls, you will be a part of a growing, dedicated company that prioritizes safety, compliance, and risk management for our gas detection technology. As a sales representative, this candidate functions as a support to all existing market partners/distributors in the Oil & Gas market.

This position is responsible for developing new business opportunities and growing market share within the Oil and Gas Shale plays throughout the Rocky Mountain states. The ability to work and collaborate with engineering support to present solutions to customers, and think critically and technically in relation to gas, flame, and heat detection and client problems. If you have prior experience in outside sales and a desire to expand your career we want to hear from you. The position will require careful planning and goal orientated call plans with results to follow. A knowledge of CRM programs and how they work is a plus, as this will require tracking of activity for all of NA in the O&G market.

Primary Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities:

  • Travel throughout the territory to conduct regular end-user sales calls individually, or jointly, with distributor representatives – focusing on the Oil & Gas vertical; est 30-40%
  • Develop new accounts, maintain existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new distribution partnerships
  • Train relevant distribution partner personnel to ensure proper education on the client’s product line.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; and making recommendations to management.
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience
  • Should be expert in handling CRM software and other common computer software such as PowerPoint, MS Word, Outlook, Ms Excel and LinkedIn and other networking tools

What You Need:

  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of outside sales experience with developing new business and growing sales revenues.
  • Experience selling a technical or systems-based product line to relevant end users in the region
  • Experience working with relevant end users and distributor partners in the territory
  • Ability to work independently from a home office and/or on the road in a remote territory
  • Proven experience developing new business and growing sales revenues.
  • Experience covering multi-state sales territory is preferred.

Core Competencies: Sales Skills

  • Support the existing market Partners/ Distributors in the O&G market.
  • Grow sales.
  • Capture our customers’ existing market information, including address and phone numbers to be followed up. Then expand to the accounts that are not already using Conspec and gain this information.
  • Understand the needs and expectations of the customers and provide relevant solutions.
  • Demonstrate the methods of using products and resolve customer queries.
  • Establish friendly relations with customers and maintain ongoing relations.
  • Manage a database of potential customers and contact them regularly
  • Call prospective customers, discover their needs and explore a change, and explain details of the different products and services offered to promote the products.
  • Responsible for closing sales deals and achieve customer satisfaction
  • Make efforts to achieve the short term sales targets
  • Record details of every sales transaction in NetSuite and submit weekly/monthly reports to the higher officials.
  • Experience in Netsuite and SalesForce is a plus.

Industrial Skills

  • Gas detection systems or instrumentation controls knowledge preferred
  • Comfortable in industrial environments sometimes doing site observations at heights utilizing platforms and catwalks.
  • Perform plant walkthroughs and make recommendations on suitable gas detection solutions.
  • Understanding of multiple market verticals within the industrial markets.
