Job Overview:

Conspec Controls Inc., is a Gas Detection Company looking for an Energetic, Results driven Outside Sales Representative to expand our existing market share in the Industrial Fire Industry. When you join the team here at Conspec Controls, you will be a part of a growing, dedicated company that prioritizes safety, compliance, and risk management for our gas detection technology. As a sales representative, this candidate functions as a support to all existing market partners/distributors in the industrial fire market.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads. The ability to work and collaborate with engineering support to present solutions to customers, and think critically and technically in relation to gas detection and client problems. Primary Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities:

  • Support the existing market Partners/ Distributors in the Industrial Fire market.
  • Capture our customers’ existing market information, including address and phone numbers to be followed up. Expand this list.
  • Understand the needs and expectations of the customers and be able to provide relevant solutions.
  • Demonstrate the methods of using products and resolve customer queries.
  • Establish friendly relations and maintain ongoing relations with customers.
  • Manage a database of potential customers and contact them regularly.
  • Call prospective customers, determine their desires to explore Conspec products and explain details of the different products and services offered.
  • Responsible for closing sales deals and achieving customer satisfaction.
  • Make efforts to achieve the short term sales targets.
  • Record details of every sales transaction in SalesForce and NetSuits and submit reports to the higher officials.

Secondary Responsibilities (With Conspec Marketing Director):

  • Support the marketing efforts via LinkedIn and additional media streams.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and organizational meetings.
  • Research the market for new competitive products introduced and the marketing strategies adopted by competitors.
  • Operate the CRM (customer relationship management) systems and ensure authentic information is available with the company.

  • Cold calling utilizing phone, linkedin, and in person cold calls.

  • Experience with calling on industrial end users, identifying pains/needs, presenting a win/win solution, and securing PO.
  • Marketing knowledge to coordinate marketing and sales efforts with the Director of Marketing.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with engineering support to present solutions to the customer base.
  • Ability to travel as required – varies based on opportunities and location of opportunities.
  • Current target region is an 8-10 hour radius around Pittsburgh but may extend if opportunities allow.
  • Ability to present in front of peers, existing and prospective customers.
  • Ability to present product solutions to consulting engineering firms gaining preferential positioning in project specifications.
  • Experience in Netsuite and SalesForce is a plus.
  • Industrial
  • Gas detection system knowledge.
  • Comfortable in industrial environments sometimes doing site observations at heights utilizing platforms and catwalks.
  • Perform plant walkthroughs and make recommendations on suitable gas detection solutions.
  • Understanding of multiple market verticals within the industrial markets. Industrial Preferred
  • Understanding of gas detection principles for point detection.
  • Understanding of industrial plant communications such as 4-20mA, Modbus, and simple relay logic.
  • Knowledge of control panels, how they tie into plant systems, and work in conjunction with detection and signaling devices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of classified area requirements (CI/II Divisions 1 / 2)
  • Basic knowledge of BIMS files and able to direct engineering consultants to find useful documents.
  • Fire Protection Preferred
  • Understanding and application knowledge of linear heat detection.
  • Understanding of and application knowledge of Beam Smoke Detectors.
  • Understanding of and application knowledge of Thermal imaging / heat detection for fire applications.
  • Understanding of and application knowledge for signaling devices in both general purpose and classified areas.
