Position Summary

Performs complex (journey-level) clerical work. This internship position will report to the Telecom AR/AP manager and will assist team accountants in entry-level functions.  Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 

  • Preparing documents for data entry, including payment vouchers
  • Posting invoice information to agency records, including Excel, NetPlus, and Salesforce
  • Reconciling discrepancies for invoices received by DIR for vendor provided services
  • Reviews correspondence reports, vouchers, and similar types of documents for completeness and accuracy
  • May maintain accounting files and reports.
  • Supporting the invoice validation process, including dispute management and reconciliation
  • Research activities in support of both Accounting and Service Fulfillment
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

 

Education

  • A recent graduate, or a student currently enrolled in a college or university with a major or course work in accounting, or a related field.
  • Must possess academic performance that is considered in good academic standing by college/university standards.

Your Skills

We are interested in students with skills in the following: 

  • Proficiency in the use of a computer and applicable software necessary to perform work assignments e.g., word processing, spreadsheets (Microsoft Office preferred).
  • Ability to make accurate mathematical computations and tabulations.
  • Ability to effectively use 10-key numeric keyboard by touch.
  • Ability to produce a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Ability to exercise courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in all communications.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet required deadlines.
