Accounting Internship

Accounting Internship – Summer/Fall 2025

Who We Are

We’re not your typical accounting and advisory firm. At Journey, we combine excellence in our work with a team-first mindset and a culture that's seriously fun. We’re constantly looking for innovative ways to serve our clients better — and we love bringing in smart, curious minds who are in it for more than just the busy season.

This internship is for students who want real-world experience and are exploring a future in a small to midsize firm.

What You’ll Work On

This is more than an internship — it's a potential launchpad to full-time career post-graduation. You’ll play a key role on projects that matter, both to our clients and our team:

Client Accounting Support:

  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger activity
  • Prepare financial reports like income statements and balance sheets
  • Assist with client consultations (yes, you’ll be in the room) on accounting, tax, and operational strategy
  • Support with quarterly estimates, tax return prep, and other hands-on work

Firm-Wide Projects

  • Help build a training and resource library to make financial literacy more accessible to clients
  • Assist in rolling out a new centralized CRM system
  • Collaborate on the creation of our annual client communications calendar
  • Research and recommend new technologies that help us stay one step ahead

What We’re Looking For

We’re building a team of people who:

  • Have a genuine curiosity about how businesses work and grow
  • Are teachable, open to feedback, and proactive
  • Are driven by excellence, not ego
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Know how to manage their time, ask good questions, and get the job done

We’d especially love to meet you if:

  • You’re interested in continuing on beyond the summer/fall (if it's a good fit)
  • You're interest in starting and building a career at a small/midsize firm
  • You’re considering the CPA track in the future (huge PLUS if interested in tax)

Qualifications

  • Rising junior or senior during Summer 2025; Junior/Senior status during Fall 2025
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or a related field
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and a willingness to grow
