LAW CLERK

A West Los Angeles Law Firm specializing in public advocacy is seeking a full-time associate attorney to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to tackle complex legal challenges related to public health and gain the skills needed to be strong, effective advocates. The ideal candidate is driven, able to take direction well, and detail oriented. This is a good fit for someone who enjoys a team approach and likes working on cases from start to finish.

At Yeroushalmi & Yeroushalmi, you will be playing an important role in advocating for increased public health and protecting unknowing consumers by increasing awareness of unforeseen health risks.  You will be under the direction of and assisting senior attorneys on all aspects of litigation and will have the opportunity to assist with cases at all stages of litigation.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. Required
  • Excellent Written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a heavy workload as a member of a team
  • Outstanding Interpersonal skills and ability to think strategically
  • Preferred: Demonstrated interest in public advocacy
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, however, not necessary if a candidate is driven to contribute to the team’s success and demonstrates a commitment to learning
  • Background in science is a plus

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Gathering case document files and prepare files for attorney;
  • Investigating the facts of a case and drafting case reports;
  • Communicating and corresponding with clients;
  • Calculating civil litigation deadlines; calendaring in Microsoft Outlook;
  • Conducting research on relevant laws, regulations & legal articles;
  • Organizing and maintaining documents in paper and electronic filing systems;
  • Coordinating, scheduling and preparing for consultations, client meetings, depositions, inspections, mediations, arbitrations;
  • Drafting correspondence, complaints, discovery requests and responses, briefs, motions and other common civil litigation documents;
  • Performing state, federal, and appellate court filings, including e-filing;
  • Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibits, charts, trial notebook, jury instructions, verdict forms, subpoenas, etc.
