Summary: We seek a flexible and proactive team member to support the Tourism & Events Servicing Team with our bureau-owned trolley operations. This role will also assist with the Mobile Welcome Center and other tasks to ensure a positive and engaging experience for visitors to the region. Additionally, this position will support the Coordinator of Events & Tourism as a Visitor Experience Liaison at various locations and events, along with any other duties the supervisor assigns.

What You’ll Do:
- Trolley Tour Operational Support
- Pre-Tour Trolley Tour preparations. Gather and prepare supplies for tours, beverages and coolers, promotional items, and raffle baskets, and have appropriate literature ready for guests to take with them on the tour.
- Greet, check in, and attend to guests' needs prior to tour start time. Communicate with the driver or guide on the number of guests.
- Assist and or direct guests to the trolley pick-up location.
- Tour support would include following the trolley or riding along to assist the guide with tour needs. Handing out beverages at stops, pouring wine samples, and taking pictures of guests at scenic points of interest. Making sure guests are not consuming alcohol on the trolley.
- Cleaning the trolley inside and out before and or after tours.
- Storage Unit upkeep includes keeping supplies stocked and space clean and organized.
- Mobile Welcome Center Management
- Drop off, set up and pick up Mobile Welcome Center as directed by Events & Tourism Services Coordinator. Ensure that the unit has all tools and literature restocked for staff members or volunteers that will be staffing.
- Staffing the unit will be determined after volunteer participation has been determined.
- Scheduled events such as WIAA Track & Field Meet, Boat Landings at Riverside Park, 4th Fridays, Riverfest, etc. Answer questions and warmly welcome visitors to the region.
- Weekdays, evenings, weekends will be required.
- Driving unit in parades as needed.
- Assist with continued development and training of an immersive travel platform called Driftscape. This may include but is not limited to creating trip itineraries throughout the La Crosse Region, researching notable sites and landmarks to feature, and working with the developers to promote it to future visitors.
- Visitor Experience Liaison
- Create unforgettable travel experiences with visitors while staffing at our Welcome Centers as needed.
- Front desk at the Explore La Crosse Office - Answering the phone,
greet visitors, and assist with Trolley Tour guest ticket scanning. - Tourism office at the Wisconsin Welcome Center. Located in the I90 Rest Center, 1st WI exit off of I90. Greet visitors, and assist with Leisure Travel ideas for visitors that have an interest in the La Crosse Region and state of Wisconsin.
- Great River Landing Welcome Center located along Lake Onalaska and the La Crosse Center Explore La Crosse Kiosk. Greet visitors, and assist with Leisure Travel ideas for visitors who are interested in the La Crosse Region.
- Front desk at the Explore La Crosse Office - Answering the phone,
- Visiting Explore La Crosse Members place of business to deliver Visitor Guides and other marketing materials for distribution.
- Create unforgettable travel experiences with visitors while staffing at our Welcome Centers as needed.

Compensation:
This internship requires 25-30 hours per week. The intern will be compensated $15 per hour worked.
Additional Responsibilities:
Other duties as assigned by management. Attends other Convention and Visitors Bureau meetings as requested.
Work Relationships and Scope:
Works closely with most other employees at the Bureau. Regular contact with area business groups (like the Chamber), customers/potential customers/sponsors/etc, suppliers/vendors, community organizations, visitors/general public, other DMOs, state and local tourism groups, and related agencies. Has access to confidential business information.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment, and at a wide variety of events that occur both indoors and outside (moderate injury/dirt/noise exposure) for setting up, running, and tearing down of events and the Mobile Welcome Center. Requires the ability to lift and move boxes of materials and equipment up to 50 pounds. Travel by company truck (must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive) and be able to connect, disconnect, and set up the Mobile Welcome Center. Must be able to pass a drug test. This position is seasonal and will require an average of at least 25-30 hours per week during regular business hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm), nights, and weekends. Weekday hours will be adjusted to compensate for evening and weekend hours scheduled.
