Territory Sales Manager

Job Summary

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining customer relationships, meeting sales targets, and ensuring efficient sales operations within a specific geographic area. They devise sales strategies, analyze data, address customer concerns, and identify sales opportunities.

 

Work Responsibilities & Duties

  • Sell solutions to wholesale customer base as well as call on potential customers.
  • Receive training on Merrill products, selling techniques, and business planning.
  • Use ERP/CRM to help manage sales processes and track opportunities.
  • Identify revenue opportunities within assigned territories through communications with prospective clients, marketing programs, and other activities as needed.
  • Builds and maintains customer relations.
  • Contribute meaningful work that will impact Merrill Manufacturing’s bottom line.
  • Interacts with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
  • Assists in providing troubleshooting assistance to customers.
  • Accepts and implements coaching and feedback to achieve individual and team performance goals.
  • Maintains a high level of world class customer service/professionalism to a wide range of customers.
  • Recommends solutions that best suit the customers’ needs.
  • Collaborates with other sales or marketing representatives to fully understand product and communication needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in business, marketing, or related field or an associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in business, marketing or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Preferred skills and Expectations

  • Prior sales and account management experience is a must.
  • Demonstrate leadership, persuasive, initiative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of technical products and services.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in all computer areas including but not limited to Microsoft products.
  • Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability with self-motivation to work on own initiative.
  • Successfully pass a background and drug screening
  • This is a NON traveling position located in Storm Lake, IA, relocate if needed.
