Human Resources Intern

Mandich Group, based in Hollywood, Florida, is a private equity real estate investment company specializing in industrial cold-storage properties. We acquire, improve, develop, and operate investments in growth markets throughout the United States on behalf of our company principals and investors. Mandich Group supports the operations of Cold-Link Logistics, a leading provider in the cold-storage warehousing industry, ensuring the integrity and quality of temperature-sensitive goods from storage to delivery. Mandich Group is a Company Built on Family Values and is actively recruiting for a Human Resources Intern.

 

The Human Resources Intern will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resources department, which supports both the corporate office and Cold-Link Logistics locations. This role provides hands-on exposure to key HR areas, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about Human Resources in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Human Resources.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be a TEAM Player –support others cooperatively and positively to meet daily demands.
  • Support HR team with recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews.
  • Assist with pre-employment activities, including background checks, drug testing coordination, and onboarding paperwork.
  • Help maintain and update job descriptions to align with company objectives.
  • Assist with employee benefits and leave programs, providing support for payroll, benefits inquiries, and time-off requests.
  • Research and provide recommendations for HR best practices, including employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Assist in HR policy and procedure documentation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Utilize HR software and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to update employee records and manage recruitment workflows.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, such as team-building activities and recognition programs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee records and sensitive information.
  • Perform other HR-related administrative tasks as assigned.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn HR software, such as HRIS, ATS, or payroll systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR-related matters.

 

Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled as a Senior or recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in HR topics such as recruitment, employee relations, or labor laws is preferred.
  • Previous internship or office experience is a plus but not required.

 

Internship Details & Compensation

  • Hourly, part-time position ($20/hour) – paid bi-weekly.
  • Internship Duration: 3 to 6 months, with potential for extension or transition into a full-time role.
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, on-site in Hollywood, FL (no remote options available).
  • Work Environment: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record according to company guidelines.
