Marketing Communications Specialist Paid Intern

TechSolve is looking for an enthusiastic and savvy Marketing Communications Paid Intern to assist TechSolve’s Marketing Department in implementing its marketing efforts during Summer 2021. The Marketing Communications Intern will work under the direction of the Director of Client Experience in three main areas: planned content development, emergent content, and events execution. 

Essential Functions

1. Campaign Support: Prepare creative assets and content for use in marketing campaigns. Including but not limited to awareness, lead generation and relationship nurturing campaigns through inbound and outbound marketing, social media, email marketing campaigns, etc.

2. Marketing Communications: Support preparation of weekly marketing communications media and messaging including social media, email, website copy, etc. 

3. Social Media: Assist with the drafting and scheduling of social media content, brainstorm new and innovative campaigns, and research and recommend social media channels to use/best practices. 

4. Blog Content:  Analyze industry search trends, and research industry specific topics and SEO best practices for blog content. Assist in optimized content development to drive organic website traffic and conversations. 

5. Events: Assist with planning and execution of webinars, virtual events and in-person events. 

Secondary Functions

1. Analytics: Work with the Director of Client Experience to record and analyze social posts and optimize marketing communication efforts on social media channels.  

2. Media: Prepare existing creative assets for publication and use in TechSolve’s marketing. (Ex. video, podcasts, etc.)

3. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing, Public Relations Journalism or a relevant field/experience. 

- Preferably previous internship experience in a marketing related role. 

Required Skills/Competencies:

- Demonstrated understanding of communications strategies and implementation tactics. 

- Must possess working knowledge of social media platforms (including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), internet engagement and strategic best practices for reader engagement and user experience.

- Basic understanding of social media post scheduling software. 

- Must be a strong writer with a solid understanding of content strategy for a variety of platforms.

- Extremely organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. 

- Excellent communicator and creative thinker. 

- Comfortable working both independently and in collaborative team settings.

- Able to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding business and staff information.

- Adaptable to and comfortable with ever-changing business demands. 

- Takes initiative to work through ambiguity and effectively problem solve. 

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of communication strategies for various marketing applications and social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, email marketing, etc.

- Working understanding of best practices for SEO.

- Experience creating written content for social media platforms (including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube).

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

- Knowledge of videography or podcasting a plus. 

Communication Skills: 

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively in English (written and spoken) with client personnel and employees at all organizational levels and in a variety of environments. Must be able to develop effective working relationships with staff and external stakeholders.

Reasoning Ability: 

Individual must be a team player with the ability to exercise independent, sound judgment and discretion; ability to independently solve problems, be able to plan; be well organized with the ability to multi-task; work well under pressure; take initiative, and be flexible and cooperative.

Work Environment:

Normal office environment.  Limited travel may be required to accomplish essential requirements of the position. Requires the ability to travel by automobile to locations as needed, and the ability to drive/operate an automobile. 

Expected Hours of Work: 

Position will require standard work hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. 

This is a paid position with rate based on experience.
