Job Description: Music Ministry Internship
Position Title: Music Intern
Location: Dixboro United Methodist Church, Dixboro, MI
Duration: 6 months + 6 months (2nd half contingent on successful completion of 1st half)
Hours: Part-time, 5-10 hours per week
Stipend: paid internship
Position Overview:
Dixboro Church is seeking a passionate and talented individual to join our ministry as a
Music Intern. This role offers an opportunity to develop your musical skills, gain leadership
experience, and contribute to the spiritual and creative life of our congregation. The ideal
candidate is enthusiastic about music ministry, eager to learn, and enjoys collaborating
with others in a faith-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Worship Leader and Pastor to plan and lead music for weekly
worship services.
• Assist in selecting and arranging music for congregational singing, special
performances, and seasonal events.
• Lead rehearsals for the choir, praise band, or other musical ensembles as needed.
• Play an instrument (e.g., piano, guitar, drums etc.) or provide vocal support during services.
• Support the integration of technology, such as sound equipment and presentation
software, into musical worship.
• Encourage participation from church members of all ages in musical ministry
activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proficiency in at least one instrument or vocal performance; knowledge of multiple
styles of worship music is a plus.
• Ability to read music and/or chord charts; experience with music arrangement is a
bonus.
• Strong organizational skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
• A teachable spirit and openness to feedback.
• Prior experience leading or participating in church music ministries is a plus but not
required.
• A strong personal faith and a desire to serve in a church setting is a plus but not
required.
