Summer Data Analyst & Research Assistant (Paid Internship)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (In-person with some remote flexibility) (MUST Currently Live in LA)

Compensation: Paid hourly, based on experience

Polis Assist is an innovative technology company focused on solving urban mobility and smart city challenges through real-time parking and transportation solutions. Our platform uses cutting-edge data, mapping, and AI tools to help users and cities better manage parking and transit flow.

We’re looking for a bright, detail-oriented college student to join our team this summer to support key initiatives involving data analysis, research, and field data collection. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real-world datasets, urban infrastructure challenges, and startup operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the collection and validation of transportation and parking data across the greater Los Angeles area
  • Analyze usage patterns and performance data to support product development and strategic decisions
  • Conduct internet and field-based research to support business development and operational planning
  • Act as our Data Collection Manager in organizing, cleaning, and interpreting large datasets
  • Help develop simple visualizations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and brainstorming sessions

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university (STEM, Urban Planning, Data Science, or Business majors preferred)
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and basic data analysis tools
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or programming languages (Python, SQL, R) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and curiosity about solving real-world problems with data
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Must have access to reliable transportation for fieldwork in the L.A. area
