Human Resources Intern

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to observe multiple functional areas within the Human Resources department including: Recruiting and Onboarding, Training and Development, Administrative Support, Benefits Administration, and other functions. The Human Resources Intern will assist in supporting the overall goals of the department by participating in various tasks and projects, ensuring they receive a well-rounded experience performing duties in the HR function. This position must represent TVFCU in a professional manner at all times both internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist in the Talent Acquisition function by providing comprehensive administrative support for full-cycle recruiting, including posting jobs to the Career Center, conducting application reviews and screenings, coordinating pre-employment background checks, maintaining and enhancing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and performing data entry tasks.
  • Support TVFCU's HR compliance efforts by reviewing and updating job descriptions as needed, assisting in the review of the Employee Handbook, and providing assistance with various policies and guidelines as required.
  • Support the training and development function by aiding in the preparation for training sessions and assisting with various training projects.
  • Provide assistance with HR administrative tasks, including Front Desk support, preparation of document packets, and offering general support to various departments at the corporate headquarters office.
  • Assist with various HR projects and initiatives such as: Internal Service Surveys, employee engagement activities, benefits communication, and wellness initiatives.
  • Provide assistance in coordinating various HR events and functions, such as job fairs, community engagement activities, and partnerships with colleges and universities.
  • Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

The TVFCU Internship Program is designed for undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds who are considering careers in business, economics, finance, accounting, marketing, information technology, human resources, and other related fields. This internship supports TVFCU’s goal of expanding access and opportunities in financial services careers for students from historically underrepresented communities.

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale (must provide transcripts)
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors working toward a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
  • Ability to work part-time or full-time hours for the summer (25-40 hours/week, generally 8am-5pm Monday-Friday)
  • Able to commit to the full internship of 10 weeks (weekends may be required)
