Full-time, 40 hours per week position available, with flexible work hours.

 

Description of duties: As a project manager, you will oversee web application and business systems projects using waterfall, agile, and ad-hoc methodologies as appropriate. You will regularly communicate and report project status, concerns, risks, and questions to stakeholders and executive management. Your role involves delivering project objectives on-time, with quality, within scope and budget, while developing, managing, monitoring, and reporting on all project/program tasks, activities, expectations, controls, and deliverables. Additionally, you will effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders on projects with conflicting priorities and competing resources, ensure that project teams are working well together, and maintain familiarity and understanding of IT development, testing, and production architectures and environments.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • 6 months to a year of IT project management experience, including experience managing teams involving at least 4 individuals and budgets exceeding $100,000 on projects covering conference events and scholarly publications. 
  • Four-year degree or equivalent in Management or Management Information Systems, relevant experience required.
  • Two + years working with medium to large corporations or equivalent in management or leadership positions.
  • Certification from an accredited PMI education program or PMI certification preferred.
    • Competitive wages, annual discretionary bonus. Pay Range $77,978 to $114,567.

Compensation and Benefits package includes:  

  • Medical, dental & vision benefits provided (100% employer paid premium for the employee, 75% employer paid premium for the dependents). 
  • Defined retirement contribution: SPIE provides an automatic 5% contribution PLUS SPIE offers UP to 5% matching contributions and 25% vesting each year, 100% vested after 4 years.

Location: Physical work location in Bellingham, WA.  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.  The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
