Associate Tax/Accounting

Job Title: Associate Tax/Accounting 
Location: Columbia, MD 
Duration: 12+ Months

Job Description: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Tax/Accounting professional to join our team in Columbia, MD. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in tax compliance, accounting, and financial reporting within a dynamic corporate environment. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the field of accounting and taxation. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Use knowledge of federal, state, and local tax returns. 
  • Support tax compliance efforts, including gathering and organizing financial data. 
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist in reconciliations. 
  • Conduct research on tax regulations and accounting principles to ensure compliance. 
  • Assist in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities. 
  • Prepare and review tax-related documentation and reports. 
  • Support audits and respond to tax inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Perform general accounting duties such as accounts payable/receivable processing. 
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiencies. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Basic knowledge of tax regulations and accounting principles. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Prior internship or relevant experience in tax or accounting is a plus but not required. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Familiarity with tax preparation software and accounting tools. 
  • Understanding of financial reporting and compliance standards.
