Are you looking for a fast-paced and challenging position that will utilize and enhance your Mainframe and COBOL skills to provide crucial help to Californians? Do extensive variety, challenging deadlines, frequent exposure to managers and staff in the Information Technology Branch as well as program areas excite you? The Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for highly motivated and qualified individual to work in the Mainframe Tax/Employer Services Section (MTESS) of the Application Services Division (ASD).

You will be a member of the MTESS in EDD's ASD. You will be responsible for maintaining complex mainframe applications that support Benefit Accounting and Employer Reporting systems. You will be working in a team or independently to develop new applications in a complex technical area or process and maintain existing systems.

Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) will be assigned to the Mainframe Tax/Employer Services Section. The ITS I works in a project team environment performing Employer Reporting work to support the business functions that include may involve a wide variety of tasks that include (Requirements Gathering, Analysis, Design, Coding, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Support System Testing, Implementation of Programs and Maintenance).

This position may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy, which would require access to high-speed internet at the location telework is performed. Employees are required to report to their headquarters' office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Position exists at EDD’s Headquarters office at 800 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California.
