Intern - City Manager's Office

The City Manager Intern will assist in supporting the City Manager's office with a variety of tasks related to municipal operations, policy research, and community engagement. This position provides valuable exposure to the functioning of local government and offers hands-on experience in public administration. The intern will work closely with city leadership, staff, and the community to contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives.
Essential Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Assist with organizing meetings, preparing reports, and managing correspondence.
- Policy Research: Conduct research on city policies and programs to support decision-making.
- Project Assistance: Help manage and track the progress of city projects, preparing materials as needed.
- Community Engagement: Participate in public meetings and assist with outreach activities to foster communication between the city government and residents.
- Data Analysis: Assist in collecting and analyzing data to support city initiatives and performance evaluations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Must be a college-level student enrolled in an accredited college or university or recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, the Social Sciences, Communications, or a closely related field.
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively prioritize assignments.
