Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Head of Title and Registration to lead and oversee all aspects of our vehicle title and registration operations. This leadership role will ensure compliance, optimize processes, and drive efficiency across the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Territory Title & Registration (T&R) Specialists, Billing Analysts, and Contracted Processors while serving as the primary liaison with state and county officials.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate a team of T&R Specialists, Billing Analysts, and Contracted Processors to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Oversee and manage the processing of vehicle titles, registrations, renewals, and temporary tags, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain professional relationships with State and County officials, ensuring compliance with all local and jurisdictional laws and regulations.
Develop and implement efficient procedures and best practices to optimize workflows, improve service delivery, and enhance financial accuracy.
Manage accounts payable and receivable related to T&R transactions, ensuring financial integrity and timely processing.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and regulatory bodies regarding DMV policies, registration processes, and compliance matters.
Stay current with all applicable registration laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, proactively adapting processes to legislative changes.
Provide leadership, training, and continuous development opportunities for all direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Storage, Dispatch/Transport, and Inspections, to streamline operations and enhance customer experience.
Conduct weekly audits to ensure team accountability, compliance, and adherence to performance standards, fostering a competitive and goal-driven environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in title and registration operations, including leadership roles
Strong knowledge of DMV regulations and title and registration laws across multiple jurisdictions
Proven experience in team management, process optimization, and compliance oversight
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with state/county officials and internal stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with experience managing accounts payable/receivable in a regulatory setting
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, title & registration software, and process management tools
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment
