
Business Development, Digital Marketing, and E-Commerce Intern
Our company is seeking a highly-motivated, organized, and ambitious intern who demonstrates the ability to work independently and support the business growth initiatives of a small team of consultants. This internship is a unique opportunity to gain work experience in a small, family-owned business seeking to bring an extensive library of products to an online marketplace for sale to a statewide market of healthcare providers. Products include policy manuals, forms, and documents that assist healthcare providers with day-to-day operations, including Human Resources management and clinical documentation.
This role will offer hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, strategic planning, and market expansion. The intern will be responsible for overseeing this project and will be involved in all aspects of business development, including product development, creating and maintaining a customer database, digital marketing, and managing an e-commerce marketplace. Job Responsibilities
Product and Website Development
- Assist consultants with finalizing electronic documents/products in preparation for posting them for sale to prospective customers.
- Conduct research to determine best process/software/websites for setting up and managing an online store/marketplace (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.)
- Determine how both hardcopy and electronic products are sold and level of involvement on each order for consultants. Assist consultants with determining how the marketplace and products will be accessed.
- Figure out how to completely automate sales with customized products to customers overtime for online marketplace.
- Determine whether customers should be registering/logging in to website for access to products, or products are available on a download-basis only.
- Conduct keyword research and optimize website content for SEO.
- Create and manage product listings with compelling descriptions and images.
- Develop and execute social media marketing strategies across various platforms.
- Support email marketing campaigns and customer outreach initiatives.
- Analyze website and marketing performance using Google Analytics and other tools.
- Assist in content creation (website, blog posts, social media graphics, videos, etc.)
- Research and suggest new digital marketing opportunities and trends.
- Ensure online store is user-friendly, accessible, organized, and directs customers to the correct products.
Marketing and Promotion
- Develop a marketing strategy to launch the new line of business.
- Determine best method for storing the information of customers.
- SEO Optimization: Improve search rankings with relevant keywords, meta descriptions, and content.
- Email Campaigns: Notify clients/potential clients about new products, regulatory updates.
- Social Media Marketing: Regularly post engaging content on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to attract customers.
- In-person marketing: promote the company’s online marketplace of products at tradeshows, association meetings, meeting with providers directly, etc.
- Incorporate incentives and promote engagement from customers by determining whether free resources or downloadable content with purchase.
- Work on website development, including display of customer reviews and testimonials.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage new line of business and track customer sales over time.
- Troubleshooting, when needed, and providing customer service.
