Internship Opportunity: Beachfront Tiki Assistant

Location: Oceanside Inn 1909 S Atlantic Ave Daytona Beach Shores FL 32118
Duration: One semester - full time or part time position maybe offered after internship
Compensation: Paid (100% tips), College Credit, Letter of Recommendation, Real World Experience, and potential for hourly plus tips position after internship is complete

About the Role

We are seeking a personable, organized, and motivated intern to assist at the beachfront tiki of a condominium association while supporting the management and promotion to grow revenue through marketing strategies. This is a great opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in hospitality, restaurant, management, or operations. As the beach season approaches our tiki manager is looking to mentor a hospitality manager in all aspects of the tiki from food cost management, cleaning, bartending, cooking, P&L, advertising, and customer acquisition growth. 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist residents, guests, and potential renters at the tiki
  • Help pioneer our breakfast
  • Assist in creating marketing material to promote the tiki establishment
  • Help maintain accurate food and beverage records, process payments, and P&L
  • Coordinate with property managers events and promotions
  • Support marketing efforts for the tiki program, including creating promotional materials and engaging on social media.
  • Assist in developing strategies to attract more customers and enhance guest experiences.
  • Provide general tiki support, such as minor cooking, bartending, cleaning, ordering supplies, and POS entry.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality or a related field.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of restaurant or hospitality operations is a plus.
  • Experience with customers is preferred.
  • Proficiency in customer conflict.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
