Retirement Representative

Retirement Representative (403(b)) Consultant (Multiple roles) | Southwest Chicago suburbs (Hybrid)

 

Our client, an institutional investment management firm, offers solutions for health benefits, retirement plans, risk management, and consulting. They are hiring two (2) Retirement Representatives to support 403(b) plan administrators and participants by managing enrollments, contribution reporting, administrative tasks, inquiries, and compliance. One position will be temp-to-hire, while the other will be temporary. These roles are part of the firm’s Retirement Planning Services division and will follow a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in-office per week.

 

Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary contact for plan administrators and employees, provide guidance on 403(b) plan features, enrollment, and account management

Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and fax, ensuring timely and professional assistance

Educate plan administrators and employees on retirement benefits, plan rules, website tools, and financial wellness resources

Assist with onboarding new employers, ensuring a smooth transition into the contribution reporting process

Oversee new participant enrollments, including data entry, error resolution, and SSN verification with employers when discrepancies arise

Manage contribution reports, including late reports, corrections, forfeiture balances, reconciliations, and lost earnings

Work closely with internal teams to resolve account discrepancies, processing errors, and participant/employer concerns

Maintain accurate records by saving and organizing enrollments, contribution reports, and other key documents in the Document Storage Library

 

Requirements:

1+ years of experience in retirement services, financial planning, or financial customer service

1+ years of experience with 403(b) and/or 401(k) plans and retirement regulations

Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and advanced Excel skills, including knowledge of Macros

Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

 

The target hourly pay rate for the temporary position will range between $23 and $27 per hour.
