Commercial Lines Marketing Assistant
General Overview:
Provide support to the Commercial Lines Marketing Department in placing and marketing new business with partner insurance carriers. This includes handling post-binding tasks before transitioning the client to the account management team. Assist commercial lines producers by managing technical resource tasks necessary to secure new business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Commercial Lines Marketing Department in processing new business submissions by reviewing, entering, submitting, and documenting information accurately in agency management systems.
- Assist in preparing insurance applications, schedules, and coverage summaries.
- Help with obtaining and reviewing quotes, either through carrier rating tools or by working with underwriters.
- Contribute to the development of marketing summaries and proposals by outlining terms, rates, commissions, and required binding documents.
- Request necessary documents from insurance carriers, such as loss run reports.
- Provide proof of insurance documentation, including auto ID cards, insurance certificates, and property insurance evidence forms.
- Handle invoicing for clients, including processing fees, premium finance agreements, and complex billing arrangements.
- Assist with the documentation requirements for Surplus Lines.
- Ensure high levels of accuracy in all agency management systems and technology platforms.
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- Must have or be willing to obtain a state Property & Casualty insurance license.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
- Sales-oriented and solutions-focused to help achieve production and growth objectives.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Capable of maintaining strong working relationships with sales teams, colleagues, insurance carriers, vendors, and other business partners.
