Business Development Representative
As a Business Development Representative at G&W Equipment you will play a key role supporting our sales teams through prospecting, lead generation, and developing business relationships with internal and external customers. You will work to develop and execute sales strategies, build proposals and forecasts, and learn how to sell the products and services in the material handling industry. Ideally we are looking for someone to learn and grow in the role, and ultimately be promoted to an Outside Sales function in one of G&W’s available markets.
Essential Functions
- Source new sales opportunities through new lead generation, inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calling, and developing a customer network and relationships.
- Work with current Territory Managers to arrange sales calls and customer site visits.
- Support Territory Managers throughout the quoting process to become familiar with internal processes.
- Collaborate with other internal staff members as needed, working closely with all company divisions to develop cross-selling strategies and ensure a good customer experience.
- Facilitates demonstrations of material handling solutions as needed, with ongoing on-site follow-ups throughout the demo period.
- Attend team meetings to review department goals and strategies as required.
- Work with Sales Manager to develop annual sales goals.
- Use CRM to track daily customer interactions.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature as required.
Position Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- One to two years of B2B business development, outside, or inside sales experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to the insurance company.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with LinkedIn Navigator and/or Sugar CRM preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimal travel outside of the territory (trade shows, training).
- Demonstrates persistence and ability to handle rejection. Interested in understanding and executing the sales process.
Compensation Range: $50,000 - $60,000 salaried, with quarterly bonus opportunities
Note: This position may remain in Atlanta or have company-assisted relocation to another G&W Equipment Market (Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC, or Raleigh, NC) based on the needs of the company and in consultation with your manager.
