Marketing Communications Intern

The Wilhelm Marketing Communications Intern utilizes their existing knowledge and creativity to effectively and concisely convey Company information, announcements, and updates to its customers (existing and potential) and the public through various marketing projects and initiatives. By regularly participating and contributing, in a positive manner, to brainstorming sessions as well as professionally following directions from senior marketing team members and learning from constructive criticism to improve their contributions the Marketing Communication Intern will gain vital experience and aid the marketing department in the completion of projects and goals.

The position will work out of Wilhelm's Corporate Headquarters located just outside of downtown Indianapolis, Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, during the summer of 2022.

Essential Functions

  • Create, pitch, and develop newsletter content
  • Identify construction industry news and trends for sharing on social media and internal news updates
  • Assist with necessary updating and maintenance of Social Media Platform Profiles
  • Assist in the development of social media calendar
  • Assist in the updating and creation of company website content
  • Assist with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) updates and data entry
  • Update, proofread, and fact check written marketing content (SOQs, Resumes, Project Profiles, etc.)
  • Assist the Business Development and Marketing department prepare for upcoming events and trade shows
  • Provide updates in weekly team meetings
  • Help ensure consistency in brand "voice" across multiple communication channels
  • Regular and reliable attendance at work
  • Other duties as assigned by Company Management

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows - intermediate to advanced knowledge
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) - intermediate to advanced knowledge
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) – intermediate knowledge

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum College Sophomore pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or other related fields

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential
  • Ability to work in a team environment and solo
